Succulent Care Guide for 2" Pots

Watering

Succulents do not need frequent watering but 2" inch pots DO NEED more frequent watering than larger pots.  It is recommended depending on how warm your home is to water 2" inch pots every 1-2 weeks. Use 2-3 cap fills or water to dirt only.  Do Not pour water on plant. Water only when the soil is completely dry to the touch.

Light

Succulents thrive in bright, indirect sunlight. If possible, place them near a window with plenty of light. Direct sunlight can cause sunburn, so be cautious.

Temperature

Succulents prefer temperatures between 60°F to 85°F (15°C to 29°C). Avoid placing them in rooms with drafts or extreme temperature fluctuations.

Soil

Use well-draining soil such as cactus or succulent potting mix. Good drainage prevents water from sitting in the pot, which can lead to root rot.

Fertilizing

Feed your succulents with a balanced fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer). Do not fertilize during fall and winter.

Re-Potting

When purchasing succulents in a 2" inch pot, it is recommended to repot the plant in a larger pot with more soil.  You may keep it in the 2" pot for a little time but if the succulent starts to outgrow its pot, change the pot to a larger one with at least 2 inches on each side for room to grow. Remember the dirt should never touch the bottom of the plant.  Use decorative rocks on top of the soil to prevent plant rot.

Manicuring

Regularly manicuring your succulent by removing dead or dried leaves helps promote healthy growth, increases air flow, and prevents pest infestations by eliminating hiding spots for bugs.
